The National School of Drama (NSD) conducts the NSD Entrance Exam in order to offer aspiring and talented students admission in its three-year diploma course (full-time) in Dramatic Arts. Through the course, NSD train talented youngsters to become professionals in the area in acting, design, direction and other theatre-related disciplines. Students will have to apply online and appear for the NSD Entrance Exam. Students who qualify will be offered admission at the prestigious institute.

Candidates will have to follow the below-mentioned step by step process on the NSD Entrance Exam admission process which are as follows:
Step 1: Apply Online
Students who are interested in admission at NSD will have to firstly apply online on the official website of National School of Drama. Students can either fill the form online or offline mode. Students have to apply within the time period allotted.

Step 2: Receive Admit Card
Candidates who apply online successfully can download their admit card once released online on the official website of National School of Drama. Students will have to enter their application form number in order to download the admit card. The admit card is an important document which needs to be carried on the day of the test/audition and interview.

Step 3: Appear for Test/Audition
Students who have applied will have to appear for a preliminary test/audition which will be conducted during May/June.
Step 4: Interview
Students who qualify will have to attend a five-day workshop and will have to appear for an interview. The allotted date and time will be notified to the candidate on their registered IDs.
Step 5: Result
The National School of Drama will release a list which will contain the names of candidates who have qualified and are invited to book their seat for admission in the School.

Q. Can I apply offline for NSD Entrance Exam?
A. Yes. The candidate will have to write to The Dean Academics, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi – 110001 along with a crossed Demand Draft/Pay Order, payable at Delhi, of Rs. 225/- including postal charges in favour of Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi. The candidate must submit the application before the last date.
Q. What is the minimum age to apply for NSD?
A. The candidate needs to be 18 years of age to apply for NSD.
Q. I have done BA History, can I apply for admission at NSD?
A. Yes. The candidate can be a pass in any course, but the candidate should have experience in theatre and must have proof.
Q. Does NSD provide hostel facility?
A. Yes. NSD provides hostel facility with affordable prices.
Q. What is the application fee?
A. The NSD Entrance Exam application fee is Rs 50/-. The fee can be paid online (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card) or offline that is via Demand Draft.

The application window closed as the last date to apply for the NSD Entrance Exam was till February 28, 2020, for the 2020 academic session.
